Top Load Washer Leaving Oil Spots on Clothes? Here’s How to Fix It

If your Top Load Washer is Leaving Oil Spots on the clothes check the Following

Tub Seal
If the washers tub seal is starting to go bad it will allow grease up under the agitator from the transmission and this can get into your clothes while they are washing.

Usually if you look underneath the washing machine in the center of the tub you will see some water leaking. Also sometimes on the floor underneath the washer you will see a ring of oil.

If not you will need to remove the agitator to check underneath.

The only other way oil can get into your washer is if you or someone else previously washed oily greasy clothes in it.

This can take some time to remove depending on the amount of residue left behind.

Try running old towels with a cup of bleach.

Then run an empty load.
